Varun Dhawan- The Most Promising Youngster in Bollywood.

As I stepped out of the cinema hall after watching ABCD 2, the only hangover I carried with me was of Varun Dhawan & Prabhu Deva. The latter bestowed us with a solo dance but it was Varun who carried the movie on his shoulders. I tried to recall his recent ventures and realised that he has presented a variety in his performances, one after the other. He started as an arrogant teen heartthrob [Student of the Year]; went on to do a comic solo [Main Tera Hero]; featured as a middleclass boy next door [Humpty Sharma ki Dulhaniya]; a Dark Avenger, fifteen years ahead of his time [Badlapur] & now he is dancing all the way to Vegas. I cannot claim that he disappointed a movie-goer like me in any of these movies.

He is extremely Photogenic &  highly spirited/stylish  on screen; he comes across as a dauntless performer whilst participating in high voltage Drama; his comic timing doesn’t seem exaggerated; he undoubtedly possesses those boyish charms which draw women of all ages to throng the halls. A typical Poster boy, he has brushed up his dancing skills to look convincing as a wannabe hip-hop Star. He manages to look vulnerable and flirtatious with ease. He reminds me of Govinda, who flooded us with his rapid offerings in the late 80s & early 90s. Govinda was able to give us multiple silver jubilees without any other big name sharing the credits. Who else but David Dhawan to be named as his mentor? Govinda danced like a dream and acted with ease, displaying no complexities; exactly what Varun Dhawan is coming across as. A Confident Actor. He proved his mettle in Badlapur, where he played a mature man on a vengeful journey [an offbeat role].

Having David Dhawan for a father- is like an ace up his sleeve. The senior Dhawan is credited for shaping up the careers of many stars. The master showman of comedy movies – he has passed on the tricks of the trade to his son who seems to be choosing just the right projects to display his potential. ABCD 2 has crossed a feat of collecting more than a 100 crores at the box office and it wouldn’t be fair to deny him his contribution. Looking forward to see him in DILWAALE with SRK & Kajol.
